Things To Do in Aldeburgh

With a yacht club and two golf courses, an all weather tennis court, a boating lake, horse riding, llama treking and beautiful coastal walks on its doorstep Aldeburgh has plenty to offer those who prefer to pursue a more active break.

However if culture and history are your thing it won't disappoint either, with guided tours of Benjamin Brittens former home and art collection available at his former home The Red House and Aldeburgh Museum open to the public and housed in one of the most important and stunning timber framed buildings in England, Moot Hall.

Snape Maltings, only a few minutes drive away, has its own concert hall with regular classical and operatic performances and there is also an independent cinema in Aldeburgh itself, which has been open and screening since 1924 and hosts a number of special events throughout the year.

If all that has you exhausted and looking for a rest, why not take to the water for a relaxing boat trip up the river Alde?...
