Long Melford has been settled for many centuries. It was a busy village in Tudor times, and still is, attracting visitors and holidaymakers from all over the UK and the world. Houses, shops and other businesses are comfortably mingled along Hall Street and Westgate, making a delightful environment for the wandering pedestrian. Please browse through the website and check out our various guides below for full details of events, shops, restaurants and more around the village.
Christmas will arrive in style to Long Melford on Sunday 26th November 2017, with Father Christmas and a massive snow machine, real live reindeers, donkeys & historical figures, as well as carol singers and a silver band, the day will finish at dusk with a Lantern Parade through the village to light up the Christmas tree on the Little Green. Put it on the calender as it really is a day not to be missed!
