Owner Geoffrey McGregor has a wealth of experience in the antiques business – and, as his slogan says, he’s keen to offer old fashioned values in a modern world. His background may be in antiques, but his business is right up-to-date with the latest in modern technology.
Geoffrey shared Suffolk premises with his parents at Napier House Antiques in Sudbury where he traded for more than 20 years as ‘Geoffrey McGregor Antiques’ (G.M.A.). This is still his core business – but he now only trades out of Long Melford Antiques Centre, which he bought in August 2007.
He has nothing but praise for former owner, Baroness von Dalen, who opened the centre
in the early 1980s until her retirement.
Her generosity in business extended to the sale of the Antiques Centre, bequeathing several items - including valuable reference books, office equipment, and even some useful kitchen items.
Anyone who had dealings with the Baroness would have known her as an honourable and fair person – and Geoffrey says he’s determined to live up to that tradition. He wants her generosity of spirit to live on in the centre – along with her strong values and dedication to outstanding customer service.
